WA GOP goes after Michelle Obama

Thu Jul 17, 2008 at 09:15:24 PM PDT

Unbelievable - simply unbelievable the Washington State GOP has decided to go after Michelle Obama --

It is not like the GOP does not have problems with the Economy, Iraq, the Banbk, bankruptcy

No what is most important to them is to go after Michelle Obama

Aren't they just such an unbelievable sleezy and slimy bunch?

Are you costing Obama votes?

Mon May 19, 2008 at 07:56:19 AM PDT

UPDATE: As there seems to be some questions as to what I really meant - supercontext in his comment - gave the perfect explanation

shorter sara seattle" -- how can Obama supporters be out there working hard and doing good stuff in the real world and acting like complete assholes here on D-Kos?

Orig version:
I am getting more and more convinced that the greatest danger to Obama winning in November is

Holier than thou Obama supporters

* How can Obama supporters day after day after day be out there phone-banking to convert voters

* and day after day after day we have people door-belling to convert voters for Obama

All the while - Obama supporters here at DailyKos is doing everything they can to piss off the HRC voters that have been wavering in their support for HRC - on the fence - the ones that would need very little from us to become Obama voters.

So what is that makes this attitude so prevalent??
Are they just trolls that want to be sure that Obama lose in November?
Are they just thoughtless and are enjoyed the adrenalin rush when pissing people off
Or just self-centered, thinking of themselves and "their hurt" feelings insead of the cost to the Obama campaign.

Please stop this - and think of the consequences

Hillary - we barely knew you

Thu May 08, 2008 at 11:05:59 PM PDT

Hillary - I thought you would be the most amazing President.

Smart - caring - and after 8 years of George W. Bush - a breath of fresh air.

For many years - I had truly wanted the opportunity to vote for a woman President - and to almost see it happen -

hearthbreaking...

Because what happened Hillary?? -- I thought we knew you - thought we knew you to be honerable and honest.  Thought that you wanted what was best for America instead of what you that was best - just for you.

What happened to your decency - to your sense of right and wrong?

Hillary - my friend - it is time

You know what to do....

Kossacks now FOR the war???

Mon Apr 28, 2008 at 07:12:00 PM PDT

I used to think that it was only rightwing nutjobs that were chickenhawks.

But now - more and more - every day I see Kossacks proudly proclaiming that they will vote FOR the war - or not vote at all to stop the war!!!

The fact that soldiers are killed every day does not seem to change peoples minds because their reasons for now being FOR the war in IRAQ are pure and right and darn it, principled.

Yes soldiers are killed - and children left without fathers and mothers -- but more and more Kossacks are now FOR the war in Iraq.

So - will there be an apology??

Mon Apr 07, 2008 at 09:19:24 PM PDT

If you wrote a diary slamming Hillary for her reporting on the young woman that died -- could you write a new diary with apology??

So read the whole story -- you do want to read the whole story - don't you??

Clinton Told True Tale of Woe, Says Kin
Casto said her niece, who suffered from preeclampsia during her pregnancy, did not seek care at the first hospital she when she fell ill because she knew she did not have the $100 out-of-pocket she believed she would need to be seen. Instead, she went to O'Bleness Memorial Hospital, where her baby was stillborn. Bechtel was later flown to Columbus and died there. She was 35.

Casto said she has been stunned by the amount of negative attention her niece's story generated, and that she was sorry it had hurt the Clinton campaign. She was, and is, she said, a supporter. "Did I vote for Hillary?" she said. "You'd better bet I did."

WA - It's time to gear up and go after the GOPs

Mon Feb 18, 2008 at 11:23:13 AM PDT

We still have GOP operatives in all our districts that we need to get rid off.

In WA state it is Rep. Dave Reichert (R) - he has been absolutely useless to the State of Washington and is still so alligned with president Bush that describing him as Bush's poddle would be too kind.

I just received an e-mail from Darcy Burner

Last Thursday, on Valentine’s Day, House Republican leadership ratified Novak’s assessment, denying Congressman Reichert the seat on Appropriations that he so desperately coveted. In doing so, they reinforced the growing perception that Reichert is an ineffective representative for his district – in fact, he is ranked a dismal 419 out of 435 members of Congress in a widely cited independent analysis of power and effectiveness.

Gore to the Rescue - updated

Sat Jan 26, 2008 at 01:03:57 PM PDT

I think it is finally coming to the point where Al Gore might be the only one that will "heal" the rifts in the Democratic party.

Both Obama and Hillary has widened the tear - Edwards even though a wonderful candidate with terrific appeal and plans, has not managed to get the fractions to join - or even stop killing each other - and in the process the Democratic party is getting more ande more fractioned.
Little update -- Hilton/Clinton typing error - thanks
In the Obama and Clinton camps there are strong fractions that both are pulling apart - and as words came from the Obama camp that less Obama voters would vote for Hillary in case she should be nominated (as shown on Olberman) but Hillary voters would vote for Obama if nominated.  That not insignificant fact is now making things worse.

So - if the powers to be - can get Al Gore to step in the ring - what would be the response here at Kos

I cannot wait until Spring is over - -

I cannot wait until the Democratic convention when it finally truly decided who will be our presidential nominee.

No more unnamed sources

Wed Feb 14, 2007 at 10:12:47 PM PDT

Radio Station Cries 'Enough' -- Won't Quote From Certain News Stories Relying on Unnamed Officials

The news director of the public radio station in Santa Fe, New Mexico, has directed his staff to "ignore national stories quoting unnamed sources." He also called on other news outlets to join this policy.

Bill Dupuy sent the following to his news staff.
*

Effectively immediately and until further notice, it is the policy of KSFR's news department to ignore and not repeat any wire service or nationally published story about Iran, China, North Korea, Pakistan, Russia or any other foreign power that quotes an "unnamed" U.S. official.

What we have suspected and talked about at length before is now becoming clear. "High administration officials speaking on the condition of anonymity," "Usually reliable Washington sources," and others of the like were behind the publicity that added credibility to the need to go to war against Afghanistan and Iraq.

The Elephant Graveyard

Sun Nov 05, 2006 at 08:26:18 PM PDT

This simply has to be the tag-line for the November 7, 2006 election.

In an article by the Columbus Dispatch - Darrel Rowland discusses the difficulties the GOP will have getting voters to vote for anything other than a straight Democratic ticket --

But in the article there is this gem of a tag-line "The Elephant Graveyard" -- let us all pray that will be so in Ohio and all over the United States

REAL SCANDAL, fake blog.

This was foreseen.

so I looked and found this post

The House Republican leadership knew of now-ex-Rep. Mark Foley's inappropriate e-mails to Congressional pages a year ago, and ABC News didn't report on them until the end of this last week -- but if you were reading the right blogs, you'd have gotten wind of it nearly a month ago: As Clarice Feldman, Tom Maguire and others are pointing out today, the Stop Sex Predators blog that first made the Mark Foley e-mails available last week is highly suspicious, to say the least, as is Daily Kos two-comment wonder WHInternNow, who first mentioned Foley's page problem on Sept. 5:

Scarborough: Is Bush an Idiot? - updated /video

Tue Aug 15, 2006 at 06:31:37 PM PDT

Updated - the link is here from Crooks and Liars http://www.crooksandliars.com/ Scarborough has jumped the shark - he just had John Fund and Odonnell on --

Had lots of clips showing Bush's famous examples of misspeaking - i.e putting food on your family etc etc.

It was an amazing display og venting - fund and Odonnell barely could get a word in edgewise as Scarborough hammered on - Is Bush an Idiot?

It is likely the most amazing piece I have ever seen on television - ever - about Preznit George Bush.

Hopefully it will be up soon on Crooks and Liars - trust me it should be bronzed and kept for eternity - because it was such a perfect display of what an idiot president we have.

Arab Muslims and Danes in peaceful harmony??

Sun Feb 26, 2006 at 04:02:12 PM PDT

At least the Arabs from UAE - because as it happens the Danish global company Maersk actually happens to own 50% of P&O operations in NY and NJ.

So Arab Muslims can get along with Danes and not go after the FATWA and $1,000,000 to catch/kill the cartoon journalists from Denmark  --- if there are big bucks involved.

This to me is the perfect example why the cartoons were such a bunch of hooey --

They were used by Arab governments for their own purposes - and of course they chose to rename Danish pastries to some bizarre (GOPish freedomfries) name -- and to their shame ended up killing a lot of innocent people.

---- but when it came down to the bottom-line -- if money is involved - then the danes were OK afterall!!

Good grief -

Baghdad Burning/Riverbend in raided house

Sat Feb 11, 2006 at 03:46:33 PM PDT

*Title updated* Imagine how it would be - you are at a birthday party for your 16th year old cousin - you are sitting late at night visiting with the family - -
The light goes out - and all of a sudden, the cell phone signal goes away - you try the land-line - it is dead -- you remember last time it happened - your neighborhood was raided - -

You wait in the darkness - listening desperately for the sounds you know are coming -- heavy footsteps - yelling - clanging at the gates - -

and next the soldiers are in your house -- looking for what??

It that does not give you an idea of where Iraq is today - nothing will --
