Southwick CONFIRMED; Feinstein needs to GO.
Wed Oct 24, 2007 at 01:03:27 PM PDT
Just got off the phone with my "esteemed" senator's S.F. office (Washington line apparently ringing off the hook). I was so livid, I'm STILL shaking.
(Ring-ring!!)
"Hello, Senator Feinstein's office, this is Daniel, how may I help you?"
"Yeah, Daniel, I'm more than a little upset with my senator right now..."

...mostly from Wolf Blitzer, on The Situation Room.
(1)Rush Limbaugh is a hero for selling Harry Reid's "Phony Soldier" condemnation letter on E-Bay for a Marine charity, and had a "fair point" (according to Blitzer) when he said he was refering to "one specific soldier" with his "Phony Soldier(s)" comment.

So I'm over at Buzzflash, and I click on P. M. Carpenter's commentary, "Of Bush's history and Gore's future". It's a short read, but here's the gist:
What with Al Gore having just won the Nobel Peace Prize, the Post saw an opening for a front-page story devoted to the legacies and comparative leadership qualities of the de facto president and the man actually elected.
HEY!! QUIT SNICKERIN'!! I AIN'T GOT TO THE PUNCHLINE YET!!
Gonzales vs Constitution: Bare Ass Nekkid Edition
Fri Mar 16, 2007 at 11:23:11 AM PDT
Article I, Section 9, Clause 2 of the Contitution: "The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it."
Gonzales, sworn testimony before Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Jan. 18th, 2007:
"The fact that the Constitution — again, there is no express grant of habeas in the Constitution."
Even Arlen Specter was stunned at this jaw-dropping assumption of unconstitutional idiocy.
The fact that it was uttered in broad daylight and broadcast to a live audience, by the man who's very JOB it is to protect, defend, and enforce constitutional and statutory law to insure 'equal JUSTICE for all' is astoundingly outrageous.
It exemplifies complete contempt for the most basic founding tenet at the heart of all democracy.
